Penn and Teller: Fool Us is a competition in magic television show in which magicians perform tricks before American comedians and magicians Penn & Teller. The initial season was masterfully hosted by Jonathan Ross, and the 3rd season after that by the Penn And Teller – Fool Us Hostess Alyson.

Each episode starts off with an introduction that explains the main purpose of the show. Penn & Teller come out and are seated at the center stage. They watch eager magicians will perform their acts before them, in front of an audience of live viewers. Following each show, Penn & Teller privately confer while the host interviews the magicians. Penn & Teller then reveal if they know how the trick was executed, typically using cryptic language or recording the technique and then presenting it to the magicians for confirmation, so as to avoid approaching public disclosure of the method of the trick.

In the television show, P&T – Fool Us the magicians perform their magic tricks in front of American comedians and magicians Penn & Teller. If a trick is unsolved at the end of each show, the magician performing the trick is awarded the Fool Us trophy and a five-star vacation for a trip to Las Vegas.

Season one was shot in Fountain Studios in London, England (for the first time), and season two onwards has been filmed on the Penn & Teller Theater in Las Vegas. Penn Jillette and Teller have been performing together as Penn & Teller since 1983.

Teller remains speechless throughout the course of the show, but they do communicate through subtle gestures to each other. They have been known to talk with magicians performing and request for them to repeat specific actions or provide more information.

As of 2017, Penn and Teller have published books about deceit, created instructional videos on how to play cards and have performed a show titled Penn and Teller The Fool Us.
